Donald Trump has hit back at the European Union (EU) with a 25% tariff, accusing the bloc of being set up to cheat the United States (US)!
Not keeping quiet, the EU has promised to respond firmly and immediately to trade restrictions that it considers ‘unfounded’.
Tensions have increased when Trump also threatened tariffs on Canada and Mexico next week, sparking fears of a full-scale trade war.
French President Macron had previously hoped to persuade Trump not to confront China and Europe at the same time, but it seems Trump has other plans.
If these tariffs are implemented, the EU has warned that $29.3 billion worth of goods will be affected, with the automotive industry and other sectors in a critical zone.
