Minister of Investment, Trade and Industry, Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz also stated that the tariffs imposed on semiconductors may not have a significant impact on Malaysian semiconductors.

The postponement of tariffs imposed on Canada and Mexico shows that there is still hope for a path of discussion on tariffs and trade that could affect Malaysia.

The two countries have signed an agreement on cooperation in the semiconductor industry.

The value of trade between the US and Malaysia reached RM324.9 billion last year.

He added that the government remains committed to maintaining good trade relations by paying attention to a good environment for investors and complying with international regulations, thus increasing investor confidence in this country.
