In the last quarter of 2024, Malaysia witnessed a significant surge in 5G users, with 18.19 million active subscriptions.
The figure represents 53.35% of the country’s mobile users, according to Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil.
He stressed that this advancement is a significant milestone in the advancement of the country’s digital landscape.
The deployment of 5G services highlights the country’s steps towards upgrading its telecommunications system.
The announcement was made following a key meeting at the Ministry of Communications, where Fahmi led discussions on Malaysia’s 5G implementation strategy.
He also said that 5G network infrastructure has reached 82.4% in densely populated areas.
This advancement in the 5G network is expected to pave the way for greater technological advancements, increased productivity, and better services for the people.
In addition, according to Fahmi, announcements related to Digital Nasional Berhad (DNB) and U Mobile will be made soon.
