Following Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan's 2-day visit to Malaysia, 11 agreements were signed aimed at enhancing cooperation in various areas including energy, defense, trade, disaster management, media and scientific research.
A special agreement focusing on clean energy was signed by the Deputy Prime Minister of Malaysia and the Turkish Minister of Energy.
The two countries also agreed to cooperate in disaster management and diplomatic training.
Another agreement was made for joint research in the Arctic and Antarctic.
In defense, Malaysia and Turkey will work on the procurement of military products and strategic communication systems.
The Selangor aviation agency and the Turkish defense sector will cooperate on smart city and security projects.
Malaysia also signed an agreement to purchase a mission ship from Turkey.
In trade, the two countries will focus on consumer protection and market inspections to ensure that products sold in the market are safe and meet quality standards.
They will also work together to check and monitor goods in stores to prevent unsafe or low-quality products from reaching consumers.
The media industry will also collaborate, with both countries sharing knowledge and expertise.
The Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission and the Supreme Council of Radio and Television of Turkey will work together to improve broadcasting services.
This agreement reflects the strong and growing partnership between Malaysia and Turkey.
