After a long silence, Elon Musk finally spoke out after speculation that he would bid for TikTok with a pretty clear answer: “NOT INTERESTED.”
The controversial entrepreneur insisted that he had never made an offer or intended to buy TikTok because he did not use the app at all.
In fact, he insinuated that buying companies was not his business style and Twitter (now X) was just an exception, not the norm.
Meanwhile, Donald Trump, who was once a vocal critic of TikTok, is now its savior.
The US President, who once tried to ban the app, now admits that he has a “special place” for TikTok, especially after it helped attract young voters in the 2024 election.
More surprisingly, Trump is also considering using the new US sovereign wealth fund to buy TikTok.
With 170 million American users still in limbo, the TikTok saga is far from over, especially if Trump’s ‘U-turn’ turns into a multi-billion dollar power move.
