Sabahans will receive “spending money” of RM300 a month throughout 2025!
Sabah Chief Minister, Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor, announced that 100,000 people in the poor and hardcore poor categories will receive this assistance through the Sentuhan Kasih Rakyat (SYUKUR) Program.
Payments will be made every three months for a lump sum of RM900 to those who qualify, either through bank accounts or cash.
This program will begin this month with the next phases in April, September, and October.
This initiative is an effort to reduce the burden on the people and is also a sign of the government’s concern for the well-being of the people of Sabah.
However, despite these noble intentions, some are also wondering if this is a sign of the government’s concern or just “lubricating oil” ahead of the upcoming Sabah state election?
