President Donald Trump announced a 25% tariff on steel and aluminum imports starting Monday.

Trump also shared another additional tariff plan that is expected to be implemented on Tuesday or Wednesday, which aims to equalize trade by ensuring that the United States (US) imposes the same charges that foreign countries impose on its goods.

Tariffs on steel and aluminum were previously abolished under the Joe Biden administration, and provided duty-free quotas to several countries such as Canada, Mexico, Japan and the EU.

Canada is the main supplier of Aluminum to the US, recording 80%.

At the same time, Trump also touched on the high car tariffs imposed by the EU on the US, which is 10%, while the US only imposes a tariff of 2.5% on cars imported from the EU.

However, the US imposes a 25% tax on pickup trucks.
