US Stocks Slow, Investors Await NFP Employment Report Data

Wall Street was seen weak on Friday, as investors await the NFP employment report that will influence the interest rate to be determined by the Federal Reserve (Fed).


Amazon's strong fourth-quarter report did not have a positive impact on the company after it lost more than 4% due to a less than encouraging revenue forecast.


On Thursday, US (US) index stocks recorded an increase with the Nasdaq and S&P 500 respectively by 0.51% and 0.36%, in contrast to the Dow Jones which fell by 0.28%.


Earnings reports and economic data that have been released this week have been used by investors in making decisions in the market, which can be seen with increases recorded in stocks related to stocks in the consumer staples, financials and technology sectors while energy, healthcare and utilities stocks declined.
