Petronas CEO Tengku Muhammad Taufik Aziz, who is also the president, has stressed that the company's restructuring will begin in the second half of 2025.
The restructuring, which involves all levels including top management, aims to continue to maintain competitiveness and secure the company's future in a better direction.
The ongoing transition in the energy sector and the global economy has prompted Petronas to take this step.
A special team has been established to study the appropriate workforce and the results of the study are expected to be completed by mid-2025.
Tengku Taufik assured that employees affected by the changes will be treated fairly.
Commenting on the discussions between Petronas and Petros, he explained that no disputes have arisen and they are open to collaborating with Petros as long as the Petroleum Development Act 1974 is complied with in any form of collaboration.
