Audi, a subsidiary of Volkswagen, is in the process of reducing its workforce in Germany by 7,500 by 2029, but factory workers will not be involved in this process.

However, the company has reportedly invested €8 billion (US$8.7 billion or RM38.7 billion) in facilities in Germany.

The company is also focusing on launching new models, especially in the US and China, where sales have recently declined.

Audi hopes that this restructuring will help improve its financial performance and competitiveness.

By 2025, Audi will expand its production in China, with the launch of the e-tron Q6L electric SUV and other vehicles.

In addition, the company plans to introduce ten plug-in hybrid models this year, emphasizing a flexible transition to electric vehicles.
