The Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) yesterday launched a new operation called Op Pantau 2025 to ensure compliance with the prices of goods for traders.

This action is to ensure that traders do not take advantage of the opportunity to increase the prices of goods arbitrarily ahead of Ramadan and Aidilfitri.

From Ramadan bazaars to supermarkets, enforcement officers will monitor the prices of goods, scales, halal labels, as well as the sale of counterfeit goods to protect consumers.

Minister of KPDN, Armizan Mohd Ali stressed that this operation will be carried out comprehensively and targeted nationwide including with the assistance of Van STAR (Consumer Complaints and Redressal Squad) to deal with consumer complaints quickly.

A special command center will also operate from 8 am to 8 pm every day to ensure immediate action is taken against defaulting traders.

Consumers are urged to report any irregularities, while traders are reminded to do business honestly or face action!
