Is this a misunderstanding or an attempt to stir up tension?

Following the announcement on March 20, 2025 regarding the relocation of the Dewi Sri Pathrakaliamman Temple in Jalan Masjid India, Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Federal Territories), Datuk Seri Dr Zaliha Mustafa, stressed that the government never promised or approved RM2 million in compensation for the relocation.

He denied the allegations that went viral on social media, describing them as baseless and misleading to the people.

According to Dr Zaliha, the relocation of the temple was the result of mutual discussions that achieved a 'win-win situation', with the guarantee of a new site equivalent to the original location,

As a context, according to Malaysiakini, the temple was built on land owned by the Jakel company before the company decided to build a mosque on the site.

As a result of the negotiations, the relevant parties agreed to provide a new site to enable Hindus to continue carrying out their religious activities.

Meanwhile, the mosque construction project on private land will continue after being delayed since 2020.

He also strongly warned certain parties not to play with fire by spreading unverified information that could spark religious and racial tensions.
