North Korea's Lazarus Bitcoin Holdings Beat Elon Musk!

North Korean hacking group Lazarus has become the largest Bitcoin (BTC) holder, surpassing Tesla, the electric car manufacturer led by Elon Musk.


According to Arkham Intelligence, Lazarus holds 13,441 Bitcoins worth $1.14 billion, which is 16% more than Tesla's holdings of 11,509 tokens.


Last month, the hacker group successfully exchanged $1.4 billion worth of Ethereum from the hacked Bybit platform.


Bybit CEO Ben Zhou said the funds were converted to Bitcoin with 12,836 tokens distributed across 9,117 separate wallets.


Meanwhile, Tesla acquired its Bitcoin holdings four years ago and has held them ever since, making it the world's fourth-largest public company by BTC holdings.


On Thursday, Trump reaffirmed his commitment to making the US the Bitcoin superpower and the world's crypto capital.


In this context, further developments will be interesting to watch, especially whether Tesla and other US companies will take further action against the North Korean hacking threat.


The US government currently holds 198,109 BTC worth over $16 billion, the result of seizures in law enforcement actions and Trump recently announced the assets as part of the strategic reserve
