US CPI Report for February Refreshes Wall Street

The low inflation report, namely the US consumer price index (CPI), managed to push Wall Street back up on Thursday with technology stocks seen as the best performers.


American stocks on Wednesday were seen to have an impact on Thursday's movement when the S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite rose 0.49% and 1.22% respectively, in contrast to the Dow which fell 0.2%.


Among the leading technology stocks were Nvidia which rose 6.4%, Tesla rose 7.6%, Meta Platforms managed to strengthen by 2.3%, Palantir Technologies and Netflix managed to increase by 7.2% and 2.8% respectively.


Meanwhile, the appointment of Lip Bu Tan as Intel's new CEO was seen to have a positive impact on Intel's shares when it managed to strengthen by more than 10%.


However, Adobe faced misfortune when its shares fell 4% after revealing a weak revenue forecast for the fiscal second quarter.
