Starlink Internet, founded by Elon Musk, is expected to operate in Vietnam after receiving support from the country's Prime Minister, Pham Minh Chinh.

He has instructed relevant authorities to grant a 'trial' license to Starlink as soon as possible.

During a recent meeting with nearly 40 American companies in Hanoi, Chinh also discussed ways to balance trade with the United States (US).

Vietnam is considering increasing imports from the US such as aircraft, military equipment, liquefied natural gas (LNG), agricultural products and pharmaceuticals to balance the 'trade surplus' that could invite tariffs by Trump.

Vietnam's high exports to the US have recorded significant profits but at the same time the amount of imports by Vietnam from the US is less than exports, leading to a 'trade surplus'.

With Vietnam's plan to import liquefied natural gas (LNG), agricultural products and so on from the US, it is expected to reduce Trump's tariff concerns.
