You've been working for 40 years, but when it's time to rest, there's not enough money!

So, do you want to keep working or live in hardship?

Retirement should be a time to rest, but the current system leaves many workers caught between work, health, and family responsibilities.

An expert from the ISIS Institute, Calvin Cheng, suggested that the government create a flexible retirement scheme so that people can retire in stages from the age of 50 to 60, with the option to extend to 65.

According to Cheng, the current system, which sets mandatory retirement at age 60, leaves many workers caught between the demands of work, health, and family responsibilities.

The middle generation, who have to support aging parents and children, is increasingly stressed, and without change, the financial burden will continue to weigh on them.

Cheng stressed that if the government only focuses on economic growth without considering the well-being of the people, bigger social problems will arise.

So, is it the outdated retirement system, or the cost of living that is getting crazy to the point where people can't afford to retire even though their hair is full of grey?
