Losing his status as Mr. Billionaire has made Elon Musk hot to sit next to his best friend, President Donald Trump.
Musk, who has just lost $300 billion for the first time since November 2024, has caused his title as a billionaire to be scratched and slowly erased from the list of the richest people in the world.
After Trump announced retaliatory tariffs on major US trading partners, Musk's wealth fell by RM52 billion in one day, bringing his total loss in 2025 to RM520 billion.
This fall occurred due to the struggle of Tesla's sales which fell by 49% in Europe, causing Musk to now change direction, speaking out loudly against Trump's 'America First' policy.
In his X post, Musk shared a pro-free trade video that also included a sarcastic remark about Trump advisor Peter Navarro, saying, “every disaster that happens in America, there’s always a Harvard guy at the center of it.”
Navarro, who is known to have a PhD from Harvard, responded by sarcastically suggesting that Musk was only acting to protect Tesla’s business interests.
Musk responded by insisting that the tariffs were not a bad thing for Tesla—but that the impact would still be significant.
Now many have spoken out about the status of the Trump-Musk friendship.
Still close or waiting for a break?
Or is this just a bored billionaire drama?
Whatever, when big egos clash with hard policies, it’s not them who ultimately lose—it’s the global market and ordinary consumers.
