In early April, United States (US) President Donald Trump announced a 25% auto tariff on the entire US industry.

This situation has been experienced by major US automakers, after the amount of auto tariffs has been increased compared to the original tariff.

This increase has caused the industry to spend about $100 billion in costs by 2025.

Based on current sources, Detroit's Ford Motor Company and General Motors and Stellantis companies have seen a cost increase of $42 billion.

Trump's announcement of 25% auto import tariffs on April 3, caused a shock to the entire industry.

Also affected are vehicles made in Mexico and Canada, which are subject to levies.

The implementation of Trump's tariffs prompted automakers to make changes involving production aspects, by increasing truck production at the Indiana plant.

Meanwhile, Stellantis also implemented a similar initiative by stopping factory production in Mexico and Canada.

The two changes implemented have affected five major US facilities as the main connectors for companies from the two neighboring countries.
