Malaysia Welcomes Chinese President's Three-Day Visit Starting Tuesday

Chinese President Xi Jinping will pay a three-day visit to Malaysia from 15 to 17 April 2025 after his last visit was in 2013.


President Xi's visit to Malaysia is at the invitation of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Ibrahim, with a ceremonial reception to be held at Istana Negara.


This visit is the first in a series of Chinese state visits to Malaysia, Vietnam and Cambodia in 2025.


In addition, Xi, together with Chinese officials, is also scheduled to meet with Malaysian Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim for discussions.


Anwar will host an official dinner to welcome his counterpart at the Seri Perdana Complex, Putrajaya.


The meeting between the two parties to be held is to discuss bilateral cooperation between the two countries.


Furthermore, the discussions are also expected to focus on regional issues, especially regarding the trade tariff conflict on China from United States (US) President Donald Trump.


In conclusion, Malaysia as the ASEAN chair is committed to continuing to advance the strategic partnership between China and ASEAN.
