The United States (US) tariffs have affected more than 50 countries including Malaysia and other Asean countries.
However, this situation has not in the least caused the government to stop exporting cooking oil to the US market.
Although, Malaysia has been imposed a retaliatory tariff of 24 percent.
This statement was delivered by the Prime Minister of Malaysia, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
Similarly, Deputy Prime Minister, Ahmad Zahid Hamidi and Minister of Plantations and Commodities, Datuk Seri Johari Abdul Ghani also supported the PM's statement.
Zahid said that the issue of tariff increases should not be politicized and urged the people to unite in facing this problem.
He also said that Malaysians should come together to support the Prime Minister's vision as a single mind in order to face the tariff pressure on the country.
