Global market uncertainty has prompted most countries to prepare with systematic measures, facing the latest tariffs announced by United States (US) President Donald Trump.

Malaysia is no exception in implementing the best methods to address tariff challenges.

Malaysian Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and New Zealand Prime Minister Christopher Luxon met to discuss the Trump tariff issue.

This discussion was held to promote positive aspects in order to prevent Trump's trade tariffs.

Anwar also informed Luxon about efforts to organize a Special Meeting of ASEAN Economic Ministers to devise the best approach to overcome the tariff trade war.

Recently, Trump shocked the world following the announcement of a 90-day postponement of the tariff period on regional countries.

However, China was exempted from the postponement and was instead imposed a critical tariff increase of 145%, exceeding the previous 104%.

Today's implementation of the pause has temporarily calmed the turbulent global economy, including Malaysia, which was subject to a tariff of 24%.
