Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) has taken a strategic step by signing a contract with the Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy (MEWRE) operating in the country of Kuwait.
TNB's flagship company, TNB Repair and Maintenance Sdn Bhd (TNB REMACO), will collaborate with its Kuwaiti counterpart, Al Dhow Engineering, for a period of 7 years involving RM705 million after the contract renewal.
The agreement focuses on the maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) work for the Sabiya Power Plant and Water Distillation located approximately 65 kilometers from Kuwait City.
The construction of the plant, which has four power units, plays an important role in the energy infrastructure involving the West Asian region, which began in 1998.
Furthermore, this effort was also successful in encouraging the growing energy demand in Kuwait.
The initiative not only emphasizes TNB's relationship with Kuwait, but also strengthens diplomatic relations with other countries such as the United Kingdom (UK), Australia, Saudi Arabia, Cambodia, Pakistan and Turkey.
At the same time, TNB continues to support the energy sector in Kuwait with the aim of strengthening economic relations between the two countries.
Overall, TNB REMACO continues to position itself as a major player in the global energy industry, while maintaining operational excellence in the country.
